ATTENDANCE SHIELD

Objective

The Attendance Shield was presented to the club by P.J.Loveless. It was awarded annually to the member of the Wessex Northern Section for attendance. In 1979 the section became known as The Salisbury Section. In 2009 the name changed to CTC Salisbury.
Originally attendance was simply measured by the number of Sundays one rode with the section. The rules were changed to award points depending upon whether one stayed out all day or only joined the ride later in the day. Rides on other days than Sunday were then given points. The rules were changed again so you could only win it once. It has not been awarded since 1986.
The award was made at the section A.G.M. The winner kept the award for a year and had his name engraved upon it at Section expense. No lady ever won the award.
