WESSEX D.A. JUNIOR TROPHY

Objective

The WESSEX D.A. JUNIOR TROPHY was awarded annually to the junior member of the Wessex D.A. who finished highest in the Wessex British Cycle Touring Competition (BCTC) heat. The event was renamed "Search Me?" in later years. The event has not been held for a number of years. There was not always a junior entrant so the award was not made every year. The competition involved testing cycle touring skills. The event was an all day event including pace judging, observation, map reading, courtesy, hill climbing, emergency stop, route planning, cycle knowledge, condition of cycle and kit for touring, cycle parking skills and a fabulous tea at the finish. The award was made at the Wessex D.A. A.G.M. The winner kept the award for a year and has his/her name engraved upon it at D.A. expense.
